Custom Systems and Controls was asked to build a laser marking system which was capable of marking part identification numbers on rolls of material up to 48" in diameter and 4" wide with the flexibility of marking fixed length straight, looped, or continuous length straight belts.
CSC designed and tested a laser enclosure that could sit between two rolls of material. The material could be pulled through manually, clamped, and marked. Integral light guides prevent operator exposure while still accomondating large rolls of material without the need for extensive external laser protection. The front door features a small service door for access to the material during processing.
CSC was able to successfully complete the project on time and on budget. The client is able to run all programs from the custom software and make adjustments as needed.
