Customer Need

A medical device company that produces left ventricular assist devices needed a way to simulate certain failures within the device to ensure proper functionality if and when they may occur.

Solution

CSC created a test platform using National Instrument’s LabVIEW and TestStand that was able to simulate certain power failures and wire disconnections that ensured the device was able to operate properly.

System Components

Success

This project was a major accomplishment as it allowed the company to test every device prior to shipping and FDA standards. A second platform was ordered as the company grew and revised the product. Both projects were completed on time and on budget.
