FACILITY RELOCATION

Customer Need

Success in their Industry allowed the client outgrow their current manufacturing facility and permitted them to move into a new location.

Custom Systems and Controls was asked to coordinate and manufacture the infrastructure related to the construction of the 35,000 square foot facility.  This designing and coordination relied on interviewing employees to determine needs, working with the Environmental Health & Safety officer to ensure compliance and analyzing waste to determine treatment specifications.

Solution

It was crucial that the planning process was coordinated and executed with extreme caution and precision as all systems are interconnected with piping, electrical and warning/safety systems.

The job consisted of the following projects:

  • Chlorine Gas Scrubber - for removing chlorine and particulates from the exhaust system
  • DI Water Treatment - developed water treatment plan to ensure adequate supply for their process
  • Clean Work Space - created custom work benches and fume hoods. The exhaust was processed through the chlorine scrubber.
  • Waste Treatment System - ensured that waste PH levels were within required levels
  • Clean Room - level 10,000 +/- with HEPA filters fabricated for fiber production
  • Hydrogen & Chlorine Building Monitoring System - detected and warned throughout the building of above normal levels of Hydrogen and Chlorine gas including an emergency shutoff

Success

This project was a major accomplishment in planning and coordinating many solutions that were all interconnected.  It allowed the project to complete safely and on time and on budget.
